DO NOT DISTURB

DO NOT DISTURB is a performative action that corresponds

with OUR street order and interferes with its rules.

                                Tel Aviv | 2009

A pedestrian crossings already existed for more than 2000 years and become a universal sign. Its the sign that represent OUR safe place in a public space. After OBSERVING a graffiti of a homeless man with a do not disturb sign hanging from his hand, at a loaded and noisy space, Ciechanowski generated a dialogue with the do not disturb graffiti, with a paradox created by her action. With a white mattress on an existing crosswalk, Interfering pedestrian balance and traffic continuity, Shoshanah started practicing a mixture of yoga and a pray postures. Disturbing the known order that is forced by the crosswalk and created a new reality.
